Intro ↑

These are operating instructions for simple portable gas stoves.

They use small replaceable cannisters:

Butane Gas Cannister

Risk Assessment ↑

If you are interested in a starting point for a risk assessment, then take a look here: Portable Stove Risk Assessment (LINK).

1. Turn the black stand over ↑

Firstly, you need to turn the black plate over. This is the stand for your frying pan stand. When the stove is packed, this plat is turned face down.

You must turn this over first.

Upside down when packed away:

A. Plate Packed Away

Now turn it over with the spikes facing upwards.

B. Turn Plate Over C. Final Position

2 : Fit the cannister ↑

Next you need to fit the gas gannister.

Open the cover:

A. Open Cover On Right

Find the socket that the cannister nozzle fits in. See the circular socket in this picture:

B. Find Cannister Insert

Gently slide the gas cannister in and rest the nozzle in the socket (do not push it in):

C. Insert Cannister

Turn the cannister so that the gap in the rim of the cannister is facing upwards.

D. Gap In Rim Facing Up

Flip cannister holder in place. There is a little tab you line it up with.

E. Cannister Holding Flap In Place

Find the lever on the front marked “lock”. Pull the lever down to “Lock”, firmly. This will push the cannister into the socket and hold it in place.

F. Cannister Lock Lever G. Cannister Locked In

Close the cover.

3. Light the stove ↑

Now it is time to light the stove.

The stove has a built-in spark maker, so you do not need matches.

Locate the dial on the right (it should be pointing up to "Off"):

A. Stove In Off Setting

Then turn the dial to the left and down and let some of the gas start flowing – you will hear a hiss. You need to let a bit of gas out before sparking it.

B. Letting Gas Flow

Next turn it pointing all the way down to “Ignition”. This is "full on" and when the sparker is triggered. You will feel a little resistance when the sparker is triggered and hear a click. Turn it down firmly, and the flame will start:

C. Ignition

Next adjust the height of the flames. You can then turn the dial back up to adjust gas flow and heat that you want, by adjusting the hight of the flames.

D. Stove Fully Lit

4. Turn Off The Stove ↑

Turn the dial all the way up to “OFF” to switch the stove off.

Leave the stove to cool, as the metal will be very hot.

Then unlock the gas cannister holder and remove the gas cannister.

Turn the hot plate back over for storage, and pack away.

NEVER pack away with the gas cannister still in the stove, as there is a risk of gas leakage.
